The Meatloaf Story Review - Just imagine that you love my meatloaf and ask me for my homemade meatloaf recipe. I happen to make mine with fresh ground sirloin. You use some old ground chuck hamburger that has sat in your freezer for two years and is now freezer burned. I use fresh heirloom tomatoes, and you use a can of cheap bargain brand tomatoes. I use fresh garlic. You use some five year old garlic powder that has rust marks at the top of the container. I bake my meatloaf at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. You throw yours in the over at 450 and let it go for over an hour. Will both homemade meat loaves taste the same? Heck no, of course not! However, if you were to put this meatloaf on the market, the food label would list the exact same ingredients...get the point? Freshness does make a difference, not just the ingredients! Not all foods are created equal.

Okay, so we all know I am a foodie. Not in any posh way - I just LOVE food. 😄 Everything about it... cooking, talking, baking, sharing (foods and recipes), eating, history, discovery, heritage, and so on and so forth. However, I abhor raisins and cannot tolerate anise. Other of my my most favorite flavors are chocolate, bacon, cilantro (and culantro too), lemon grass, basil, and GARLIC Mmmm. My very least favorite flavors, besides anise, are fennel, any kind of processed liver pate (bleck!), and hominy. Oh, and I really I love and agree with this food quote: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” Hippocrates

This has been one of the best and the absolute worst years of my life, but mainly the best with the birth of our son and my niece. I am looking forward to changes. Changes do not always have to be bad. I am trying to convince myself of it anyways. So here is to a brand new year, bring it on! May I finally figure out what makes me happy, who my true friends are, and new secret recipes hidden in ever buried recipe book in existence.

I have now cleaned house a little, cut 100 apples up to freeze and got 10 freezer bags full and a lot more apples to go I have shucked 48 ears of corn and washed and bagged for freezer now if I only new what to do with all these carrots I froze some of them all ready but still have a crap load to do something with and I still got onions to peel and cut and freeze and got to go get more bags to put all this in lol and I'm so tired already!

So I got a phone call last night and was asked if I can make them some homemade Apple Pie, Chocolate Cream Cheese Cake, Rasberry Cheesecake, German Chocolate Cake, and Pineapple Upsidedown Cake for their Labor Day picnic! Lmbo! OF COURSE I CAN!!! LOL. BUT ISN'T THAT ALL REALLY FATTENING HEHEHE? SO, TOMORROW I WILL BE FORGETING ABOUT MY DIET AND ENJOYING THE SWEETS OF LIFE!

I am not liking my new cell phones child lock feature. I can't answer the thing. It says swipe either way to answer. I swipe left, nothing, I swipe right, nothing, I've missed probably 25 calls in a day because I cannot answer it. About every other time it works and I can pick up. It's always the important phone calls that I have been playing phone tag with that it jacks up. Charlie is going to take the child lock off it so it won't do that anymore. Other than that its a great phone. So if I accidently @$$-dial anyone, I apologize in advance. Lol I should have handed the phone to the little boy standing next to me in the grocery deli and asked him to answer the phone for me. Lol

I'm having a great day! I was heading out to buy a new Keurig coffee maker because ours is on the fritz & Dad calls me so excited to tell me he won a raffle..A new Keurig & for ME! SO HAPPY!

Christmas tamales, peanut butter fudge, cocoa fudge, Oreo truffles, PB balls, chocolate chip cookies, Divinity, Ginger Bread Houses & People and Roast Beast are in the making this week!

I think it's a shame that stores are open on Thanksgiving Day. It seems to me Holidays are about spending time with family & friends, not Best deals for cheap. I'm not participating until tomorrow!

Thankful for a husband who is willing to help clean the house on a Saturday morning when really he wants to be sitting on the couch watching TV drinking coffee & working out. I think he's a keeper
