My younger self used to be scared to speak my mind and say how I feel . Now as a free speaking adult I can see how silly holding back and not being open was because being open has only worked for me and not against me. I’ve learned that having a fear towards how someone would react to how I felt or what I wanted was having a fear for what is actually for me. I’ve learned that the worst a person can do is say no, or not respond the way I want. And what do I do? Move around. The world does not end. If anything you get redirected or you get what you want. And in either option you are getting what you need. It’s very freeing.

Just wanted to share this with a group of people that would understand why this is such a big deal. A very close friend of mine is getting married today. It's awesome, she's a wonderful girl and her new husband is an awesome guy. They deserve all the happiness that they can get. While planning her wedding, she went out of her way to clarify that she knew my social anxiety and sensory issues would be at an all time high just being in that room at the event(so she didn't ask me to be a bridesmaid) and went out of her way even further to make sure I was invited to get my nails done and everything with the wedding party, She even worked the seating plan so I'd be with people I know, and at the closest table to the head table. I'm so grateful to have friends like her and her MoH. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable, despite it being HER special day.

The film 'Not Without My Daughters' should have been the incomparable Sally Field's 3rd Best Actress Oscar. It was an intense movie, and she was amazing in it! A riveting true story. Worth your time if you haven't seen it. Another torn ticket stub dated 1991 that remains ins in my keepsake box. It will always be one of my favorites.
