How To Fix My Sink Because It Was Clogged In My Bathroom Yesterday?
This was the answer..
What happens was that my sink was clogged in my bathroom yesterday.
With help of my mom, I poured vinegar down the drain first.
Then added baking soda. I used most of the big jug of vinegar that I had in my pantry.
Then I boiled some hot water on my stove and poured it in my bathroom sink.
I did that a couple of times.
My sink is fine now.
Vinegar, baking soda and hot water. Cheaper than drano.

My nephew poured candle wax down both drains in my double kitchen sink. I used baking soda, acetone nail polish remover, boiling water, and a plunger got it cleared for anyone that ever comes across that problem.

    • I have a small plunger just for the sink. Amazing the clumps that come out of the drain. No chemicals. Just hot water and tricep muscles.

I Fixed the clog in my kitchen sink.. I put the baking soda in first, heated water in microwave, poured vinegar in, and almost boiling water.
Lots of bubbling and clear drain !

That's what I do except I put the baking soda in first then vinegar. I also take hot boiled water from cooking vegetables and pour it down the drain. I wipe excess grease out of fry pans so that doesn't clog the drain.

At my parents home there are two sisters and they have a total of three daughters with long hair. I totally get that their hair is clogging up your drain. We used to have for those kids their own brushes and brush their hair very thoroughly before they took a shower. It didn't completely stop the problem but it took a heck of a lot longer for the build up to clog. I did suggest to put something over the drain to help catch the hair before it goes down.

We put something over then use the little plastic snake thing from Walmart and pulled big ugly clumps up. Cheap cost.

lol, my husband had a fit when our shower drain clogged up so bad he had to go into the basement and dismantle the drain trap to get out whatever was clogging it. He pulled out huge wads of hair and yes, it was pretty disgusting! After that we made sure they brushed their hair and there was something to help catch the hair before it got all the way down there.

                • A year ago, at my apartment, a plumber told me to pour boiling water down each of my drains once a month to keep them clear. I don't do it every month but several times a year. I've also had to use the baking soda and vinegar trick too.

Every time I clean my coffee maker I put baking soda in the sink and slowly add the hot vinegar I used 1/2 in one side 1/2 in the other. Sinks always stay clear.

                  • Is it though? You had to use some type of electricity to boil several pots of water, a whole jug of vinegar, baking soda, and all the time it took to repeat it multiple times. Give me the $4 drain opener thanks.

                  • I use about a cup of baking soda and up to 2 cups of vinegar, and a pitcher of hot water, all things I have and use. So…not a lot of trouble.

I respect what you are saying. I chose to use that much vinegar and baking soda. And I chose to waste my time. We all have choices.

                    • I was taking care of my nephews for a few days. The bathroom sink was draining slowly. I used this neat tool that is flexible and has a "claw" on one end to remove the debris (two rocks and a Lego). Saved the day!

                    • Yeah, I see them at the 99¢ store and bought one. Great for clogs down to the p-trap, but after that won’t reach.
It works great for hair stuck just past the drain plug.

I think talking about two different tools. Wish I could think of what it is called. It is silver-colored metal with a large button on the top that is depressed to open the claw, then pulled up to close the claw on the object. I suspect that you are talking about a plastic tool that is prickly on two sides.

                      • Had the same problem.
I tried plunging, liquid plumber, and hot water.
                        Nothing I called a plumber.
                        t was simple for him.
He got his plunger from his truck.
It wasn’t different or out of the ordinary.
He showed me his compared to mine.
Mine couldn’t make a proper suction because it wasn’t deep enough .

Next time put the baking soda in first. That is great I use it all the time.
This works! I had tried every drain unclogging liquid from a store to no avail and googled natural remedies for a slow drain and bingo that came up and when I told my landlord at the time who is a realtor with many properties, he was very grateful for the tip, said he would use that.
