This depressing topic is eating at me, but lately am I seeing a lot of ladies posting "My person just died". Our men seem to be dropping like flies faster than their grandparents did.Love them while you have them! My husband of 18 years was diagnosed with rectal cancer. It was horrid. But he survived, just barely. Tons of complications-sepsis, C-Diff, blood clots, an ostomy. We had a few really good years and then found that the cancer metastasized to his lungs and his brain. Huge tumor on the cerebellum that required surgery. He'd just taken a job working on Blue Origin, the rocket that Bezos was funding. He was a brilliant engineer. His prognosis was decent until they found "at least" 12 more tumors and lesions in his brain that were not able to be treated surgically. Radiation rendered him unable to walk. Chemo for the lung cancer made him so sick. I was his caregiver for a long time and it was my honor to be able to do it, but it was exhausting and it wore me out in a way that I can't possibly describe. I'm 56 and feel like I've aged 20 years in the past few years. My husband died about a year and a half ago after a really long fight to stay alive. You never really think it's going to happen until it happens. And it's so much worse than you think it's going to be. He was my best friend and I miss him with my entire soul. Remember everyone, get medical check ups regularly! #healthcare

My doctor exam went okay this morning, I have pelvic congestion syndrome which means you have varicose veins in your uterus that causes extreme cramping. I also have a lesion on my liver and they said it seems to be benign, but we are gonna do an MRI just to be sure. And, they put me on birth control to help with the cramping from the pelvic syndrome. So not to bad of a Dr. visit after all!

I am at a point in my life where I want to get much more serious about getting into shape but there are also like 20 places with readily available tacos, burritos, and pizza within walking distance of where I live. Yeah, the struggle is real for sure.

Happy Heavenly Birthday Dad! On October 10, 1953, the greatest man I’ve ever known was born. What a perfect dad he was to me! I am thankful for his love, encouragement and most importantly, time, his time. He gave me the precious gift of his time. We did things together. We talked. We hugged. We said “I love you” every time we saw or spoke to each other. I absolutely love (loved) him with every ounce of my being! I know that my dad loved me. He showed me each and every day of my life. What a wonderful man! I’m so blessed to have called him “dad.” When he passed away, a major part of me died that day along with him. I have never been the same. Life has never been the same without him. Oh, what I would give to have him back again.

Regarding tonight's performance of "Green Witch Smoke" at the Fall Festival in Adamsville, I personally think the most fabulous thing about the show was the complete Bluegrass score played to perfection by six incredible musicians. Every single performer sang their face off and the only thing as fabulous as that bluegrass score was the fact that there was a live horse in the musical, and the horse actually came out and took a bow during curtain call!

I don't know why the ppl in my family are so stubborn. Because of the stubbornness they are staying and riding out Hurricane Milton. Not right in the path but close enough to be greatly concerned! I best get random messages letting me know you all are safe. I love you all. Aunt Jen keep me informed on Aunt Sue and Uncle Ron and kids please.

So a funny marriage standoff. Before my husband and I started dating he was my friend. I had a garage refrigerator and freezer I wanted to get rid of so I offered them to him with the understanding I was NOT going to clean them. They had been in use in my garage since 2004 respectively. He said no problem but unlikely he would bother to clean them either and he didn’t. Fast forward to Saturday I couldn’t take it anymore. He won and I broke down and wiped both down. I caved. Moral of the story NEVER say Never or Not because you will. There’s something else I said I wouldn’t do but do routinely now but that’s another story …. Baking people, baking!!

I had a Mammogram last Thursday, and just now received a notification in my hospital app that my results are in. I go into my app and open it up, and the first thing my results say after my information is “the breasts are almost entirely fatty” ..so now I guess I need to put them both on a diet!

I was dropping off an overnight bag for my son and met my elder Millennial friend in a parking lot. I pulled up next to his car window and as I rolled mine down, my GenX heart was tingling with excitement for this moment I’ve been waiting for as I proceeded to ask if he had any Grey Poupon. He stared at me blankly. Long awkward pause. Then he asked if he needs to pick up whatever that is for the sleepover. Noooooo! So sad. My kids also don’t understand why I start laughing hysterically when I ask them to get meat from the freezer and I hear them yelling ‘where’s the beef!’ *sigh* I know you all would be laughing with me and ready with some Grey Poupon!

My neighbor informed me yesterday that his wife is now as poorly as I’ve been. And, now today I’m told she has Covid. All the times I’ve had tonsilitis in the past it’s gone after 7-10 days, but 3 weeks in and I’m still not well. So off I went to the pharmacy to get some Covid tests. I don’t have it, again, but I have a suspicion that I actually did recently and that the 2 tests I did were dodgy. Would’ve gone by now but I thought it better to check, just in case. I don’t need you anti-vaxxers and conspiracy theorists to start again either!

I ordered Shanna a “fancy” dress for my sisters wedding on Etsy, and almost 3 weeks later it still hasn’t shipped! I made sure I ordered it in the time frame estimated for shipping so I would have it in time and the seller's communication has been lacking to say the least. Also, I am PMSing. Feeling pissy!!

If I could switch careers right now and start a new one that I woke up every morning excited to do, I would no change anything? I enjoy promoting/marketing, helping others succeed, and helping others in general. But, I do like trying new fields and learning new traits firsthand. Really been considering putting myself out there more for growth lately. You’re never too old to learn new things. If you know of anything out there like classes, trade exhibits, conferences, industry events, workshops, or anything interesting to widen my horizons let me know. I feel like i never know about local events until they have passed. You never know what’s out there or what your fullest potential is until you try.
