Show The World Your Smile And Never Let It Change, As True Smiling Eyes Insures Your Book Has An Untethered Soul
I have been using a large spaghetti jar looks like a mason glass to drink water out of. We have a lot of bubble tea shops and the cups and lids I save for containers, plants, pencil holders and as food containers on the go. Small and portable and airtight.
This was an idea I saw online for repurposing shirts and blouses for people who need clothing protectors. Much more dignified than a bib. I’m working on 180 to donate to a nursing home. The used shirts were donated.
May be an image of one or more people and text that says 'Dignity bibs are designed to protect clothing from mealtime mishaps while providing dignity to the wearer by not looking like traditional bibs bibs that are associated with babies.'
What the back looks like. Velcro on the tabs for closure.
I took winter gloves with no match and made quirky winter scarves with them instead of throwing them away. Lay one on top of another, stitch it down, then repeat. I’ve also used odd mittens the same way.
I’m passionate about recycling / repurposing and being frugal. These little baggie clips are something I’ve made for years. The “chip clips” you buy are not very strong, sometimes fall apart, and if the bag isn’t sealed well the food gets stale and thrown away more waste. I cut the clips off skirt/pants hangers with a hacksaw or my scroll saw, and sand off the rough edges with a file. The clips are strong, durable, free, and it keeps more plastic out of the landfill. There are lots of uses for the clips. I cut 48 of these with a hacksaw in about fifteen minutes.
I also used an old leather belt that cost $1 from the op shop for four drawer pulls
Similar leather pulls from the hardware store were $8 each ❤️
I took a carabiner and clipped it on to the front of my sister's purse. Now when she is out putting on and taking off my mask, she just clip it on there and she doesn't have to dig through the whole purse for it.
Not a Novel Award, but I use old Ziplock bags to put smelly trash into like tuna fish cans and vegetable peels. I don’t pay for trash pickup to save money $30/month (?) and I bring my little Ziplock bag and my small amount of trash to work almost daily and then reuse the bag! Just zip it back up roll it up and place it back into my schlepping bag.
I recycle tin cans, glass and #1 plastics to my local recycling center. I compost vegetables peels along with grass clippings and fall leaves. My tomatoes and house plants really love it.
Good idea. I throw mine into freezer.
I do believe in being frugal, but pulling my own weight and being ethical is a high value. Maybe ask permission from your employer? Or share a garbage bill with a neighbor? Perhaps.
I think the explanation is that you are saving money on your personal trash bill by allowing your employer to pay for your trash disposal. Realistically it's no big deal, right? Well how about grabbing a roll of toilet paper and a few pens that your employer paid for? Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
Rip old sheets into strips and you can crochet or knot a rug, my neighbor the other day thought it was odd that I use old mason jars as cups to drink out of. Old tea cups as small cache pots for plants and I use the saucers as water catchers on other plants. I also make sock gnomes out of old sweaters.
I ow you the photos from the garden, like when I ripped the old sheets into strips and you can crochet or knot a rug, my neighbor the other day thought it was odd that I use old mason jars as cups to drink out of. Old tea cups as small cache pots for plants and I use the saucers as water catchers on other plants.
A cup
I cleared it with the big boss and my bosses in between. I do get what you’re saying. If I didn’t get permission from them I would not do it. I’d split the cost with my next door neighbor who had offered. Grabbing toilet paper isn’t on my list of savings, nor are other supplies of that nature. So we are all good with it. They even allow us to wash our cars in the wash bays and use their soap and towels. I love my company. My ex would also allow me to throw trash in his trash cans at his business but I prefer not to see him. So there are places you can throw trash. Just get permissions first.
I took a canvas tablecloth that was torn and made 3 market bags. Recycle/Reuse.
Also cut out Christmas card fronts & holepunch to use as next years gift tags.
The kids enjoy helping with this idea. Also, my students make oodles of these for their families during moments of free time starting about Thanksgiving.
Yup! I love doing this. That’s a great idea!
Scrap fabric into Fall decor.
Old cabinet door (glass broke) with a dollar tree placemat.
Also, home decor is not something I love to spend a lot of money on because I have animals. I bleach out drop cloths and sew them into Roman shades and slip covers, literally saving me thousands. The chairs in the picture are the camping chairs you put in bags that I slip covered. The table was a tall candlestick (my mom was taking to donate) that I topped with a piece of decorative wood.
Roman Shades From Old Clothing.
Chair Covers also from old clothes.
cute dog.
We live in a lovely but dark log home. Needed more lighting but didn’t want to hire an electrician. Turned an old water ski into a light (so I could hide the cord that routes to the outlet). Blurry pic but sufficient. I’ve since made other things with old water skis… it’s a big sport in our house (the home).
I cut up old Christmas cards ( the fronts ) to use as Christmas gift tags
With permission it's a brilliant idea! I do the reverse and take home things from work so I can recycle them. We only recycle paper at work.
A bath and body works candle jar, with a dollar tree candle holder glued to the bottom. Spray paint the lid a flat black, and glue a glass knob on top. That's also a repurposed laminate countertop. I did an epoxy pour over the top.
Why isn’t that good? I don’t eat lunch as I do the Intermittent fasting and it just looks like my normal lunch food that I trash.
????? Can you please answer me and tell me why this is not good?!
Explain.
'I wish more people understood this concept If I'm wrong, educate me. Don't belittle me.' I think it's pretty smart!
l used a heap of buttons all similar in size and sewed the across the seam at the back of a denim jacket. They looked really good. Don’t know why, but l got rid of the jacket a number of years ago to an op shop. Should have kept it as denim never goes out of fashion and l don’t grow out of my clothes.
This is beautiful stuff. Thank you for sharing it with me.
Roadside milk crates, painted, added a cushioned top.
For my nephew's kindergarten class, one on one time with students. Great storage too.
The cushion part I used an old mattress egg-crate type of mat.
The fabric was from my college days stash.
