I used to at 7 am. Our meat markdowns happen in the morning though. Anyway, I LOVE when I catch deals like this. Great haul!

A store I frequent, had not only reduced meats but fruits and vegetables. It was wonderful! Then they changed hands and this stopped. 

Amazing! My girlfriend and I haven't figured out exactly when our stores do their markdowns, so we just make sure to check every trip.
This is an example of why having a deep freezer is so beneficial to saving $ and eating better.

I asked a Stocker worker at my local grocery and it’s Tuesday’s and Sundays, so now I buy 2x a week. Always get 50% of meats and produce.

I worked at Kroger a while ago and that store doesn't have markdowns until after 9 am, but I have saved so much on my meat purchases there! Safeway has them too. As long as you cook within a couple days or freeze, you're good to go. It's not outdated either, they won't sell that, it's just short dated so they try and get something for it rather than tossing it after pull date.

I had a little krogers by me and that's the first thing I did was ck all the manager specials. I had my route down pat! I scored big time then I found myself hanging out quite often! Lol! Great job my frugal friend!

Good tip! Thank you. My grocery store doesn't even open till 9 a.m. so my wife and I might be able to make that. She always shop late at night and never get any good mark downs.

I like to do that too. Yesterday we checked out Sprouts, we got 2 per pkg pie shells they had been $12.99 they had them marked down to .50 cents. They were in the freezer section. Trip before I got chicken legs 4 pack one was .57 cents and the other for .81 cents. I love the mark down. You did great.

Kroger does their markdowns twice a day, when the store first opens and right before close. At least that’s how it was when I worked there in 2017.

This is such a good way to keep your dinners cheaper.

Awesome!!! I love to buy big lots of meat and go ahead and cook, portion it out for spaghetti or things to freeze. It saves a lot of time!! Great find!

Walmart just does not have the same amount of markdowns nor the amazing deals!

I got sick from the purple organic brand of ground beef.. Make sure their is no worms before you cook it.  It wasn't out of date and it was price reduced as well from grocery outlet.

When I see the good stuff I buy it as well and stick it in the freezer, great way to save money but still have the good stuff lol

I would so do this. I do get a lot on Flash Food which is a fantastic app. I don't think every grocery store participates but I buy most of my meat at 50% off.

I check meat clearance section each time I go to grocery store. Generally I go in the mornings.

When we had a big grocery store in our town, I would go after working midnight shift and get the reduced meat and veggies. Wish I could still do that.

I hit the supermarket daily for manager specials on meat and produce too. Amazing what you can get.

I think that flash food is an app that you download onto your phone. It is connected to local grocery stores (it is actually headquartered in Canada) but is in the US as well.) You choose your store and each day they list marked down items. Meat is typically 50% off.
You can order it and pay for it through the app and pick it up at your store.
They also have fruits / vegetables boxes and other miscellaneous items. For instance a large box of red / yellow / orange peppers is $5.00. I guess you would have to check with your local grocery store to see if they participate.
I have a sister living in the south central PA and shop at Giant Foods.

I shop reduced meat at our Giant Eagle...we eat what's marked down and get some great deals there... Well done, friend

That’s great. Nothing wrong with that. I worked a while ago in a grocery store and always shop the bargains. When they discontinue items they are 75% off. I stock up on the Starbucks (among other things) saving a ton

There are two dates on food products. Expired means it has reached the end of using it safely.
Sell By : means it has reached the peak of freshness and now has about 3-4 days ,maybe even a week before Expired. Great time to pick up stuff and Freeze it or Cook it that day.

I have seen this sometimes and git great deals! Right into the freezer it goes!!!!

I am right there with you! I shop the markdowns throughout the store ( Kroger) first! Then pick up other items on sale.

That’s how I am every morning! I got straight to the clearance meat before anything else to buy there in that moment.
