I’m getting an apartment that is for people with disabilities because I have ASD, can only work part time and get SSDI. One thing people have assumed is because the apartment is labeled as low income is that I will have to shop at thrift stores and shop at Walmart for every single thing. I’m very good at saving up money so I can get one or two things every now and then from Macy’s or wherever. I have a set clothing style and image is one thing that gives me a sense of belonging in the world. I prefer to save money for quality items, all of my life I have been accustomed to having brand new clothes and shoes vs. hand-me-downs. I shop clearance sales the end of every season too.

I take the good advice about the luggage staying at the garage till it is properly clean, and I add also the clothing we dress up.! I've always worried about that. If they take your old mattress back I would not buy anything from them.
