Book Of Likes Faces

This morning my 4 year old granddaughter came over I haven't seen her in awhile. She walked in the door, immediately hugged me and said, "Gramps I have missed you so much." As she was literally bear hugging me. I softly replied, "I was getting ready to make a custard pie....". So full of excitement she yells out, "Oh Gramps can I help, I'm a good helper, can I help you please?!?!". Omg my heart melted. We have been working on cracking eggs, I told her we practice in a bowl first, so we don't get eggs shells in the mixing bowl. As you get better, we won't need that. Practice makes perfect. She agreed we still have work to do on cracking eggs lol She is getting better though, she didn't smash them in her hands, or drop any on the floor. She has already aced the measuring cups, though I needed to help so she doesn't over fill. Practice makes perfect! Hoping that she remembers these moments in years to come. That she will look back and remember that it wasn't the food, but it was simply time together which made it the best. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

We arrived to Granny's house after driving all day, so happy to be here! On the way, right after reaching the welcome to Montana sign, we saw the strangest thing. I thought this semi was making an illegal u-turn into the other side of traffic. He drove over the median, into ongoing traffic and his front and and trailer both fell over the side of the road right in front of our eyes. It was terrifying. I almost started crying because I don't know if the individual made it out of there. We called 911 and they dispatched someone with an ambulance as soon as we let them know. We saw the cop car on the way back. Please stay safe out there, and absolutely stay home if you don't have to travel this Thanksgiving. Professional truck drivers are probably under SO much stress right now I can't even imagine. But it was just scary to see!
