Working, though slowly, on the script for "With You". Skeleton of story, outline and story synopsis, list of scenes character descriptions, and part of scene one are all done. But I've hit a roadblock, or at least an obstacle. I know where the story is going; I'm just having getting it there. I know what I want to say, but fear if I write out enough dialogue to tell the story, the show will be too long and the audience bored brainless. I wonder if Tennessee Williams had these problems. Recently, a playwright I admire immensely told me, "You can't fix a blank page". That reminded me of a poster that used to hang in one of my English or American Lit classes in high school. It said, "The secret to good writing is attaching the seat of your pants to the seat of a chair." I guess the one way to know if my writing is any good is to write it. I won't know until the words come together.
